Description
Shifting parts of your classroom instruction, activities, or both, is a terrific way to get your students motivated to participate and engaged in learning. Join Lauren Boucher for this hands-on, interactive workshop as she shares tools, tips, tricks, and strategies to help transform elements of your classroom into a fun, interactive game! Participants will also have the opportunity to use a ready-made planning template to design a gamification system for their classroom that will increase student engagement, collaboration, and academic achievement.
This is workshop three of three for the series titled “How to Use Gamification to Motivate and Engage Your Students.”
NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full members will also have access to view the recordings on-demand and earn up to three continuing education credits.

Lauren Boucher is a Regional Digital Teaching and Learning Consultant for the state of North Carolina and a former Instructional Technology Specialist with Pitt County Schools. She has taught third grade, as well as elementary and middle school gifted education.
Objectives
- Use a ready-made planning template to design a gamification system for the classroom that will increase student engagement, collaboration, and academic achievement.
Special Technology Instructions
Participants will need access to an internet device, a non-school, personal Google account, and a free Canva for Education account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment
Participants will have collaboration and sharing opportunities throughout the workshop to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
