NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full members will also have access to view the recordings on-demand and earn up to six continuing education credits.

Workshop description: One of the most impactful benefits of blended learning is the ability to provide immediate feedback and make on-the-spot adjustments to instruction based on student learning. In this session, participants will use personalized assessment and feedback strategies to experience the power of blended learning for themselves.

Presented by Dr. Jayme Linton

Dr. Jayme Linton is an education projects specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). She lives near Washington, D.C. and supports strategic planning, continuous improvement, and professional learning for DoDEA schools worldwide. Previously, Jayme served as a leadership coach, an assistant professor, instructional technology facilitator, and instructional coach.

Objectives

  • Explore digital assessment strategies and tools and reflect on the power of feedback for personalized learning.

Special Technology Instructions

Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

Assessment

Participants will design or locate a digital assessment that can be used to provide personalized feedback and make immediate adjustments to instruction to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objective and reflect on their learning.
