While teachers of early learners undoubtedly have an impressive supply of games, stories, crafts, and activities in their toolbox, sometimes we need a little inspiration to keep students interested, entertained, and ready to learn. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich for this interactive, hands-on workshop as she takes you on a guided tour of her favorite top-rated, seriously fun websites that offer engaging, well-scaffolded experiences to support early learners. She will share best practices for using these web tools effectively in the classroom, as well as lesson ideas to help build solid foundations in reading, math, social studies, and science.
This is workshop one of three for the series titled “EdTech for Little Learners.”
NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all three workshops of the series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full Members also have access to view the recordings on demand and earn up to three continuing education credits.

Dr. Samantha Fecich teaches preservice teachers (future teachers) at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. She has the honor and the pleasure of working with them in their courses related to educational technology and special education.
Objectives
- Explore top-rated teaching and learning websites and discuss how to best utilize them in the classroom to support early learners.
- Describe best practices for using these web tools effectively in the classroom to support early learners.
- Create a lesson for early learners using digital tools that will help build a solid foundation in reading, math, social studies, or science.
Special Technology Instructions
Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment
Participants will respond to discussion prompts throughout the workshop to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
