Description
Canva for Education is a free-to-use online graphic design tool that makes it easy to create, collaborate, and communicate visually in the classroom and beyond. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich for this interactive, hands-on workshop as she takes you on a guided tour of the basic elements of Canva for Education. You will learn how to upload and search pictures and elements, explore a wide range of fonts, sizes, and effects, as well as how to drag and drop design elements and animations. Participants will also have an opportunity to create their own learning materials that they can immediately use with their students.
This is workshop three of three for the series titled “EdTech for Little Learners.”
NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Premium Members also have access to view the recordings on demand and earn up to three continuing education credits.

Dr. Samantha Fecich teaches preservice teachers (future teachers) at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. She has the honor and the pleasure of working with them in their courses related to educational technology and special education.
Objectives
- Explore the variety of resources offered in Canva for Education and discuss how to best utilize them in the classroom to support early learners.
- Describe how to build a presentation using Canva for Education to deliver content to early learners.
- Create asynchronous learning materials for early learners using Canva for Education’s free online video recorder.
Special Technology Instructions
Participants will need access to a computer or laptop, a non-school, personal Google account, and a free Canva for Education account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment
Participants will be assessed through their responses to discussion prompts to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
