Edublogs is the world's most popular education blogging platform, and it's not hard to see why. First, it's simple to sign up, and get started – completely for free. There are additional features available for a free, but for just getting started with blogging, the free version is more than adequate.

When using a web tool with students, it's always important to keep in mind safety and cyber security. Not only is Edublogs an ad-free environment, but it also has great privacy features that allow you to limit access to content if needed. This is especially important for younger bloggers.

So why not give Edublogs a try? While it can definitely help teachers share findings with others, here are a few other ways you can use this tool in your classroom:

• facilitate classroom discussions
• publish handouts and classroom materials
• create a school publication
• stay in touch with parents
• create blogs for student clubs
