Free Mobile Apps to Promote Creativity Through Creation
It's no secret that creativity is one of the hardest things to teach students. Let these mobile apps get your creative juices flowing!
This article includes a variety of apps for a wide range of grade levels and subject areas. I learned about these in SimpleK12's online webinar, Free Mobile Apps to Promote Creativity Through Creation, presented by Lauren Boucher. I encourage you to check out the recording of the training session, which has even more apps, plus in-depth ideas on how to use them in the classroom.
Video Creation Apps
Students can use videos to build their own tutorials on just about any topic – illustrate scientific concepts, reenact historical events, create commercials for PSAs – what can you see them coming up with?
Image Creation Apps
Let students create their own images for projects, such as book reports, icebreaker activities, interactive maps, or classroom tours.
Additional Apps for Student Projects
- Book Creator Free – Creative Writing
- Weebly – Free Website Creation
- Hopscotch – Coding
- Minecraft and Lego Creator Islands – Virtual Reality
Another thank you to Lauren for these great ideas. Make sure to check out all of her training sessions inside the Teacher Learning Community.
