Create Fun Classroom Newsletters in Minutes with Smore

Are you a teacher, administrator, or school counselor looking for a way to create classroom newsletters or flyers? There are many free web tools for creating newsletters, but none are as easy to use as Smore. In this 3-Minute Classroom Problem Solver, SimpleK12’s Teacher Learning Community Presenter, Kim Munoz, explains how to get started with Smore to create classroom newsletters and flyers.

In the short video above, Kim shows how easy it is to get started using Smore and discusses many of the features of the website. These features include a simple-to-use design editor, various share options, and analytics. The design editor offers a wide variety of templates and themes from which to choose, as well as the option of starting your newsletter from scratch. Plus, all you have to do to add in an extra text box, image, video, embed link, or other information is to click a plus sign on the template: making each newsletter completely custom-tailored to you.

Once finished, you can share your classroom newsletter virtually or print it out. You can post your newsletter to your class website or create a mailing list to send out to your students and their parents. After a newsletter is sent out, Smore provides statistics so you can see who has viewed your newsletter and what outlet they used to view it.

Classroom newsletters can be great tools for:

• Keeping parents up-to-date on the goings-on in the classroom.
• Providing a showcase for student accomplishment.
• Sharing information about upcoming due dates.
• Creative student projects, such as book reports.
