Should you include coding in the classroom? People on Twitter seem to think so! I watch social media closely and it's my job to share some of the hot topics on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other outlets that teachers, principals, students, and parents are contributing.

Coding is taking the education world by storm, and there's a good reason for it. Adam Welcome posted an article explaining the reasons why you should include coding in your classroom. The article claims that more and more careers involve coding, that it isn't as difficult as it seems, and that it involves a number of essential thinking and problem solving skills that schools should nurture in their students. Coding is becoming such a hot topic, that some states are counting it as a foreign language credit.

The article posted by Adam Welcome included an infographic from Sylvia Duckworth called “10 Reasons to Teach Coding.” She put the infographic together based on information from Brian Aspinall. This infographic puts forth 10 arguments for coding. You can see that below. Hopefully you're convinced to look more into coding after looking at this list.
